Called to Help Our Brothers in Christ

Quentin Nusz and Carla {Nusz} Cook, families near Wichita, KS have been friends with the Andruses for 25 years.  Yes, we go away back!  When we heard of Jonathan's upcoming kidney transplant and Justin's desire to donate the 'gift of life', we felt led to help. We decided to set up a blog where their friends can be updated on their progress and also where they can help them financially if they wish. There is a link in the sidebar that directly goes to a Paypal account that has been set up specifically to help with their expenses. If you wish to send them a check to help with their financial needs, please send an email to get an address where that can be sent.

As of now the surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 26.  They will be admitted to Erlanger Hospital, Chattanooga, TN.  Jonathan has had a low-grade fever for a couple weeks after dialysis but has taken a round of antibiotics and hasn't had a temp this last week.  Thank the Lord.  We all are praying and trusting the Lord for a successful surgery next week. Thank you all for your concern and we know the family would covet your prayers as they go through this difficult time. The family will keep us posted.

  4. We just prayed as a family for you and the surgeries. Justin, you are quite literally living out Romans 12:1; that is very honorable. May God bless you both.

  6. Thank you for all your prayers. Justin and I have been doing some walking (slowly) and are trying to get our GI tracts to wake up. Still quite sore and dealing with pain but each day we are seeing improvements.

  7. Thanks for all the notes on FB you've sent to all of us and the visits at the hospital. Jonathan is in reverse isolation so some were not able to visit, but we felt the warmth of your prayers. Thanks also for those who have contributed to Pay Pal or sent checks to help with the expenses not covered by insurance. Jonathan and Justin will be off work 4-6 weeks, so the extra help is greatly appreciated. The surgeries were picture-perfect according to the surgeons and the guys are ambulating and improving daily. berniece
